Composition | Piano | Percussion | Audio Production
Aedan began exploring music with keen interest after he received a small piano keyboard at age 7, teaching himself songs that he heard on the radio. With in-person lessons unavailable during the pandemic, he started online lessons with a teacher in Ukraine. Despite the onset of war, they continued, forging a connection that continues to enrich his educational journey today.
Now 10 years old, Aedan is a versatile young composer and multi-instrumentalist. His musical journey reflects both his passion for sonic expression and his Irish, African and South American heritage. From solo piano performances at the Royal Academy of Music to playing percussion with the Brent Music Orchestra in The Grand Hall at Wembley, Aedan’s love for music knows no bounds.
His love for music extends across a range of instruments, including music composition, piano, glockenspiel, steel pans, cajon and various percussion, allowing him to explore diverse genres and styles. Inspired by the sounds of his cultural roots, Aedan has mastered the tin whistle, performing traditional Irish melodies with pride.
Aedan’s dedication to his craft is unwavering. At the age of 8, he composed his first piece, Calm, and by 10, he had completed the advanced I Can Compose course typically aimed at GCSE students. His passion for learning recently earned him a place to study violin at the prestigious Cardinal Vaughan Centre for Young Musicians, where he’s developing his skills in composition, orchestral performance and music technology.
What drives Aedan is a deep love for both the art of creating music and the thrill of live performance. Whether playing keyboards with his church worship team or experimenting with music production software like Logic Pro and synthesisers, he’s constantly pushing his boundaries. His journey is a testament to the power of curiosity, discipline and a passion for music and sound.
In his own words. “In my head, playing the piano is a bit like being in Minecraft! Every key’s like a block and I get to make my own world, but instead of blocks, it’s all music. And thankfully, no creepers or TNT to ruin it! Composing a song, on the other hand, feels like putting together a LEGO set without any instructions, you just keep adding bits until it sounds right!”
